Pierre DuBost and his wife, Marcelle Colas Pradel, created the Dubost company in 1920. Four generations later the DuBost family continues to make exceptionally crafted, iconic flatware and cutlery in the mountain village of Viscomtat, France. Laguiole (lai`yole) flatware was inspired by the design of pocket knives used by French shepherds 200 years ago, each knife handle bears the hallmark of a bee.

In 1818, Jean Louis Richard Pillivuyt founded our porcelain factory, which still bears his name today.
